Animatics
Above is the animatic and some design work for my graduate film, "Ernesto". It is a space-western, slapstick inspired comedy, lasting only 2 minutes and 25 seconds, wherein he attempts to rob a train filled with money. Unfortunately for him and everyone he encounters, the character Ernesto manages to mess up at every turn, ultimately leaving the train as a bunch of floating shrapnel in space, thanks to him blowing it up!

This is the animatic and work I did as my part in our 2nd year Collaborative Project film, "The Cake Dragon and the Funky Fox". I worked on the storyboard/animatic, backgrounds, sound design, video editing, voice acting, organisation and scheduling. It tells the story of the Cake Dragon's birthday and how he thinks the village has forgotten, and despite his rage a kind friend calms him to show that actually, the village was planning a surprise party all along. This short film, as per our project requirements, is aimed at pre-school age children.

This is the animatic for the short film concept I created at the end of my 1st year at UWE, "Black Lung". It tells the story of a chain smoker trying to get through another day at the office, judging time passing as breaks between cigarettes. Originally, it was intended to end on Ed getting home after a day of smoking and then coughing up his lungs, producing a thick, black liquid. It would then cut to him, visibly shaken, lighting up another cigarette to calm his nerves. My aim with this short film was to comment on the irony of vices, and how you turn to them for comfort even though they are what's hurting you.
Unfortunately, I misjudged how much I could actually fit into a minute (the duration constraint for this project), so this animatic is missing half of its plot. I would like to revisit this story one day, though.
